Many thanks to Bernard O'Neill for this alternative view of Boro's match, at Derby, he was apparently not at the game, and is obviously not a Boro fan.

From my point of view it was a tremendous victory and another thoroughly professional performance for Steve McClaren's team. We certaimly have no-one to fear at this stage of the season and I think that Steve McClaren can hold his head high after his first season in charge.

ONCE upon a time there was a struggling premier side called Middlesbrough, who by chance happended to win a premier match of an evening.

How this exactly happened is one of life's great mysteries, but rumour has it that an "Unpacy midfielder with a eye for the roof of the stand" hit a first half winner.

The midfielder, who answers to the name Robbie Mustoe, struck from inside the area in the twelvth minute to set Steve McClarens merry boys in red on their way.

Mustoe's intervention had the effect of reminding visitors Derby County, that there was actually a competitive fixture taking place, and that they were under a certain-- lets say emotional obligation to their fans---, to put in some type
of effort.

However after a full ten minutes of this lark, the Rams returned to their lethargic ways, and the first half wound down with Mustoe's early strike still seperating the sides.

After the brutally short interval the two sides returned to the field where they proceeded to vaguely threaten each others goalmouths, until such time as the referee took everyone out of their misery with the final whistle.

Could you do better, could you write a report for this match, if so do it now and sent it to reporter@mfc1986.co.uk, you never know, if we like it we will put it online for the world to see.
