Luke Young signed today after passing a medical and agreeing personal tems. The two clubs agreed a £2.5m deal a few days ago.
The 28 year-old started 32 games last season for Charlton, picked up three yellow cards and scored one goal. He made over 200 appearances for the East London outfit after joining from Spurs for £4m in 2001.
He has also played for England seven times.
Charlton boss Alan Pardew had earlier told his club's official website: "I've got a lot of time and respect for Luke and I appreciate where he is in his career he wants to play in the Premier League."
Young deal done
"If a decent club comes in and I thought the fee was right I'd let him go."
"I've brought in a replacement already in Yassin Moutaouakil, who I feel is going to give real competition to Luke whether he stays or not."
