Assistant Middlesbrough boss Mark Venus has promised he and manager Tony Mowbray will not shy away from the task ahead. Boro head into Saturday's home clash with bottom-of-the-table Crystal Palace above the Londoners only on goal difference and with boyhood fans Venus and Mowbray and their players facing a huge challenge. But Venus told the club's official website: "It's a big challenge but we won't shy away from the size of the task. I feel for the fans at the moment. I know they are disillusioned and we have to work hard to change that. "Getting relegated from the Premier League is a major hit for any football club and you have to bounce back as quickly as possible. "Obviously that hasn't happened here for whatever reason and it's taking a bit of getting used to for the fans, the area and the people who work for the club. "What's needed is a change of results and we are going to work damn hard to turn this club around."
