It's a massive blow to the Boro defender who was likely to take part in England's friendly with Paraguay tomorrow night at Anfield.
Ehiogu's absence from the Boro team could also be an end to his World Cup chances as Sven Goran Eriksson is unlikely to take chances with players who cannot prove their fitness before the squad is named at the back end of May.
Alen Boksic is likely to be another player missing from Boro's game against Blackburn on Saturday. Boksic has pulled out of the Croatia squad after a re-occurence of his groin injury which kept him out of Boro's previous two games.
Personally, I would not be disappointed if we did not see Boksic again this season, in fact I would not be too disappointed if we never saw him again. He has lost that spark which he had last season and I believe it is time for Steve McClaren to look for new blood.
The good news for this weekends game against Blackburn is that Benito Carbone and Paul Ince will return, while Szilard Nemeth is rated as 50-50.
