Ugo injury blow

Ugo has ruptured the posteria crutiate ligament in his left knee, an injury which could sideline the England international until Christmas.

It would appear that he injured his knee in the last home game of the season against Tottenham, but scans at the time did not reveal the problem. However, following the first session of pre-season training his knee became swollen and further scans revealed the full extent of the injury.

It is too early to say exactly how long Ugo will be out, but it could be anything from two to six months. It's another cruel blow for the impressive centre-half who spent two months out in the New Year after cracking a rib and puncturing a lung.

The injury could create an opportunity for new signing Chris Riggot and youngster Andrew Davies, both enjoyed impressive games when they were used last season.
