Tuncay Sanli On His Way Out Of Boro?
Gareth Southgate: "People will always want good players so you'd expect that every summer and every January you'll have interest in your better players.
"He's somebody that will have caught the eye, he scored eight goals in the league last year, he's on his way to that this season. He's a good player, an international regular. He's got a great pedigree.
"We've got to prove to him that we can fulfil his ambition here.
"He's certainly capable of playing anywhere in the front six, he's played as central midfielder for Turkey, he's got terrific energy.
"We played him in a midfield three earlier in the season, we've played him wide of a five and we know he can play up front so he gives us options during matches if we need to change.
"His impact on the game (against Portsmouth, which he ended in central midfield) was his work ethic at the time.
"Mind you, when we watched it again in the cold light of day he missed about four tackles and was completely out of position!"
