Mark Viduka is attracting the most interest, with his contract up for renewal he is listening to offers from other clubs. Manchester United and Newcastle are the latest clubs to be after his services, but I fancy Vids to surprise the football world and stay with Boro.
Yakubu has been connected with a move south back to Portsmouth, while West Ham and Fenerbahce are also interested. A move for the out-of-sorts striker could increase Boro's transfer kitty should the right offer be forthcoming.
Stewart Downing has again been linked with Tottenham and some sources say a £6m deal has been agreed for the England winger.
Fabio Rockemback has suggested that he wants to stay at Boro and see out the final year of his contract. Benfica and Sporting Lisbon are keen to take him back to Portugal.
Chris Riggott has caught the eye of Sheffield Wednesday. The former England U-21 international may feel a move is necessary to get first team football. Although injured for much of last season he was always fourth choice centre half behind Jonathan Woodgate, Emanuel Pogatetz and Robert Huth.
Stuart Parnaby is attracting interest from Everton and Sunderland. The full-back is a free agent after turning down a new contract at the Riverside. Danny Graham, also out of contract, is a target for Carlisle.
Boro lost out in their bid to sign Scott Brown from Hibernian after the Scottish youngster opted for a £4.4m move to Celtic. Boro chief executive Keith Lamd did admit that Boro were in discussions with the Edinburgh club but no fee was ever agreed.
No other confirmed activity on the purchase side but interest has been rumoured in Steve Sidwell (Reading), David Nugent (Preston), James Milner (Newcastle), Lee Hendrie (Aston Villa) and Jlloyd Samuel (Aston Villa).
Some other unlikely targets that Boro were linked with last week include the Swiss twins, David and Phillipp Degan, who are both currently playing in Germany and Russell Anderson from Aberdeen.
