Middlesbrough midfielder Kevin Thomson is keeping his fingers crossed he will be ready to return for Saturday's npower Championship clash with Leeds. The 26-year-old Scotland international's comeback from a fractured fibula last just five minutes of the 2-2 home draw with Portsmouth a fortnight ago. However, he suffered no lasting damage and is hoping he can be involved this weekend. Thomson told the club's official website: "I was buzzing to be back involved against Portsmouth and without feeling 100% I felt I was ready enough to help the boys. "Unfortunately, it didn't work out how I planned, I took a couple of heavy knocks early doors and that set me back a couple of weeks. "But I have been working hard and fingers crossed I'm hopeful that come the weekend I won't be too far away from being involved."
