Following the 3-0 victory over Birmingham in midweek McClaren will find it hard to change the winning formula, however Yakubu is back in the squad after injury and Emanuel Pogatetz is available after his ban was reduced.
Chris Riggott, Stuart Parnaby, Tony McMahon, Szilard Nemeth, Malcolm Christie and Danny Graham remain on the injury list and will not feature.
With Boro at home it would be interesting to see a three pronged attack but I think the Boro boss will stick to the tried and tested 4-4-2, from the start at least, with Mark Viduka and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink up front.
James Morrison offers pace down the right flank, something that has been missing in the past, so I would hope he keeps his place.
Charlton have Darren Ambrose and Gonzalo Sorondo suspended, but Jason Euell and Dean Kiely are still injured.
Boro from:
Schwarzer, Jones, Reiziger, Ehiogu, Queudrue, Southgate, Bates, Wheater, Boateng, Parlour, Downing, Doriva, Mendieta, Morrison, Hasselbaink, Viduka, Maccarone, Pogatetz, Yakubu
