We hear Boro are ready to pay £1.5m for Rangers' Kris Boyd, and also have an offer on the table for Wayne Routledge at QPR.
But I think we all know Boyd has no interest in the Championship, just as Strachan was snubbed as he tried to sign Scott McDonald from Celtic.
Why would they join us?
Gordon Strachan: “We are working at bringing in new players all the time. Keith Lamb has been working on it for three weeks.
“But we won’t have anything to announce until they put pen to paper.”
Strachan would still love to bring Rangers striker Kris Boyd to Teesside.
He will have been boosted by Aston Villa’s announcement that they were not interested in the 26-year-old.
But Birmingham City have publicly affirmed their interest in taking Boyd to St Andrews.
Boro are believed to be ready to pay £1.5m for Boyd and also have an offer on the table for Wayne Routledge at QPR.
Strachan is also trying to bring in another centre-back after suffering disappointment when Celtic’s Gary Caldwell opted to join Wigan Athletic earlier this month.
