Middlesbrough manager Gordon Strachan is convinced a lack of ruthlessness is to blame for missing out on the play-off places in the Championship. The play-offs remain mathematically possible, but with a gap of seven points and just six games to play, Boro look set to fall short.
"We've drawn far too many games. We've had enough chances to win them so it's our fault," Strachan told BBC Tees.
"The most consistent teams in the league are in the top six."
Strachan added: "We don't deserve to be in the play-offs, so it's not a problem. We're not beating ourselves up about it."
The former Celtic boss was installed as managed in October 2009, after former boss Gareth Southgate was sacked by the Teessiders.
