Middlesbrough boss Gordon Strachan has backed new signing Kris Boyd to be a goalscoring hit at the Riverside in the 2010/11 npower Championship campaign. The striker recently joined the Championship club on a two-year deal from Rangers, where he netted 101 goals in 118 league starts. Strachan believes the 26-year-old can carry his impressive form into England's second tier this season as Boro look to ensure they are in the promotion mix. He told the club's official website: "Kris excites us. We know we have got someone capable of scoring goals at any level. He has proved that in his career with Kilmarnock, Rangers and Scotland. "If you go behind in a match, it's good to know we have got a player in our team like Kris who can score goals. That breeds confidence in the crowd, his fellow players, everyone."
