Skipper Emanuel Pogatetz is nursing a shoulder injury, to add to the problems that Robert Huth and Chris Riggott have, making them touch-and-go for selection.
Huth and Riggott are still short of full fitness, and Arsenal pose a massive threat in a game that will test Gareth Southgate's struggling defence.
The defeat at the KC leaves the Teessiders in 12th place in the table, but just four points better off than the Mackems who are in the relegation zone.
Southgate Sees His Options Deteriorate!
Pogatetz (talking to the official website): "The table is very tight and we have to start picking up points sooner rather than later.
"We don't want to be towards the bottom end of the table come the end of the season.
"The performances aren't too bad, but the results are just not good enough. It's more down to concentration than ability at the moment."
