The substance behind recent rumours on Teesside intensified today when Sean Davis put in a written transfer request to Fulham. He has played over 110 games for Fulham and scored 13 goals but has stated he wants a move to enhance his England prospects.
McClaren has admitted he is an admirer of Davis’s footballing abilities. He will not come cheap to the Boro as it is reported that Fulham rejected a £3.5m bid from Everton earlier in the summer.
