It has been strongly rumoured that Stockdale would receive his call-up after it was reveled he qualified through his Scottish grandmother, even though he has represented England at U21 level.

Who knows if everything goes well he could be joining Boro's other international stars on their way to the Far East, but not for the World Cup, Scotland are playing South Korea in a World Cup warm-up and then they are competing in a tournament in Hong Kong at the end of May.
