Riggott Blow For Southgate?

Riggott's evening came to a premature end with just 16 minutes played, as Boro romped to a 2-0 win.

Riggott was forced off, looking uncomfortable and disconsolate as he walked off down the tunnel. He was replaced by Jonathan Franks, himself not long back from injury.

It was against the run of play that Boro took the lead as Adam Johnson cut in from the right and curled a beautiful left-footed shot beyond the reach of Joe Hart from the edge of the penalty area.

The second goal of the evening came with 70 minutes played as Josh Walker made a good run into the penalty area and was picked out by Joe Bennett's low cross from the right before a simple finish at the back post comprehensively beating Hart.
