Boro boss Steve McClaren thanked Vidmar for his contribution by saying "Tony's done very well for us, he initially came in for a two-week trial and impressed. He's a tremendous professional with a geat attitude and we wish him well in the future."
He added "But we owe it to Tony to tell him early and give him every chance to get fixed up with another club.
The Boro boss also revealed that he would like to keep stalwart Colin Cooper at the club when his contract ends at the end of the season. He also revealed Chris Riggott has put to pen to paper on a permanent four-year Boro deal after comepleting his loan spell from Derby County.
