Owens Call Time On Riverside!

The 20-year-old has only featured once for Boro's senior squad - making his debut in the Carling Cup last season.

Despite featuring prominently during pre-season, Owens has failed to work his way into manager Gareth Southgate's Premier League plans.

Owens: "'I've loved my time at Boro and I am thankful to the coaching staff Dave Parnaby, Malcolm Crosby and Gareth Southgate.

"It's been tough having Stewart Downing and Adam Johnson ahead of me in the pecking order, that would be tough for any player as Stewart and Adam are top-class players and arguably the best in the country in that position.

"I am an out-and-out winger, I love to take people on and create chances, that's my game."
