He added "I have no regrets about leaving Manchester United last year. I am happy with my decision. I felt it was time to move on to become a number one."
Greening has answered a few critics in his last couple of games with some excellent performances and hopes he can continue his good form on his return to Old Trafford "If people want to have a go at me they can," he says. "As long as the gaffer keeps picking me I’ll still keep giving it a go, giving it 110%.
He also said "It will be my first time back there and it’s quite important for me to try and play well. Hopefully, more importantly, the team will get a result. I have lots of Old Trafford memories, it'll be nice to go back and see a few faces and in a way say goodbye properly."
Few Boro fans will be realistically expecting to pick anything up Old Trafford and judging by United's win at Boavista in midweek Boro will have their work cut out.
One hope is that they do have injury problems, another is thay have lost
four games at home this season, but Boro will have to battle hard to get even
a point, which is the best we could reasonably hope for, although with Boro
priced at 10/1 I will be having a daft couple of quid on a Boro victory, we
did win there in '98.
Boro have played reasonably well in the last couple of weeks with little
reward, a defeat at West Ham, a point at Southampton and a defeat at home to
Liverpool last week, when we played the better football but just couldn't find
that killer touch in front of goal.
Boro should be at about full strength if Paul Ince recovers from a virus,
Ugo Ehiogu returns from suspension to replace Gianluca Festa who starts a
suspension and Noel Whelan will return to replace young Luke Wilkshire.
The probable starting line-up should be something like this: Schwarzer,
Stockdale, Queudrue, Southgate, Ehiogu, Greening, Ince, Mustoe, Whelan,
Carbone, Boksic.
