The 28-year-old Brazilian has been linked with Benfica since last Christmas ... but still Boro have heard nothing.
Reports earlier this week had linked Alves to Porto, but these were rebuffed by the player's agent, Roberto Tiburcio.
"Joining Porto is impossible. We've received three offers for the player, but the decision is Middlesbrough's.
"One of the offers is from France, another from Qatar, and the last one from a big European club, one of the G14; but that is not Porto.
"I hope that the future of Afonso will be resolved quickly.
"The player is currently calm and recuperating. For now, he is a Middlesbrough player, and has already played a friendly game and scored two goals in 45 minutes."
