When Southgate said Tuncay Sanli would not be featuring in Boro's line up against Sheffield United at the Riverside ... it was no surprise.
Despite picking up his large wages, the Turk had not featured in any pre-season fixtures, and all we got from Southgate was "he's wanting a transfer".
If he doesn't want to play ... DOCK HIS WAGES!
The Turkish forward was one of a number of players who many, including Southgate, assumed would be leaving Middlesbrough this summer.
He hasn't gone yet .... so why the hell should he pick up wages and sit on his arse?
Southgate: "I think there's a chance he could play.
"He's not been involved with any of the pre-season games, but I will certainly keep him in mind for team selection."
IS THAT THE SORT OF MANAGER WE NEED AT THIS CLUB?
