Middlesbrough chief executive Keith Lamb has promised the club will back manager Tony Mowbray in the transfer market. Chairman Steve Gibson sanctioned former boss Gordon Strachan's rebuilding work, much of which ironically saw him snap up players such as Stephen McManus, Barry Robson, Willo Flood, Scott McDonald and Chris Killen from Celtic, then under Mowbray's charge. Cash is currently tight at the Riverside Stadium and the club's recent financial restructuring was based on a return to the Barclays Premier League by the end of this season but Lamb insists Mowbray will be able to re-shape the squad he has inherited. He told the club's official website: "Nothing has changed. We will continue to give the manager every assistance we can and Tony knows that. "There's no point in saying how much we are going to give him because that will up the price for everyone he phones. "But we will do our best to support Tony in everything he wants to do."
