The England full-back was allowed to leave Elland Road after a 'falling out' with Leeds boss Peter 'Monkey Heed' Reid. He did not feature in the opening two games for Leeds.
It is understood that Mills will not make his Boro debut until September. He signed too late to be eligible for Tuesdays game at Leicester and it was agreed that he would not play against his old club next week at the Riverside.
