Mido looks set to join the Boro, maybe later today. The player has agreed personal terms with the club and the two clubs have agreed a fee of £6.8m.
Sunderland are believed to have offered Spurs £7.5 million for the Egyptian international but it was reported that Mido would rather move to Teesside.
Mido flies in
Mido has scored 19 goals in 61 appearances for Martin Jol's side.
Boro have also been linked with Lyon striker Milan Baros after losing Mark Viduka to Newcastle United earlier in the summer.
Hopefully, the arrival of Mido wil not lead to the immediate departure of Yakubu who no longer seems to have his heart in the club.
