Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is ready to be reunited with the Middlesbrough striker.

The Sun says Sunderland will bid £2.5million for the Egyptian striker, 25, who faces a club fine after failing to turn up for pre-season training.

Bruce worked with Mido at Wigan Athletic last season, where he was on loan.
