Lubos Michel (Slovakia)
b. 16/5/1968
Lubos Michel is one of the top referees in Europe and was voted third best referee in the world in 2005. Having made it to the FIFA list at the tender age of 25 he has refereed some very important games.
As well as refereeing in the 2002 World Cup and Euro 2004, his impressive record includes the 2003 UEFA Cup Final between Celtic and Porto, and the 2005 Confederations Cup Final in Germany.
If he seems familiar, it's because you may have seen him refereeing in the Champions League this season. He was in charge of Manchester United's home game against Benfica and Arsenal's home game against Real Madrid.
Last season he officiated in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final at Anfield when Liverpool beat Chelsea. He also did the England World Cup qualifier against Austria in Vienna.
He will be assisted by Martin Balko and Roman Slysko, also from Slovakia, who have assisted Michel in some of his big games. The fourth official is Vladimir Hrinak.
