Monsieur Layec has a wealth of experience from refreeing in France since 1998. He was appointed to the FIFA list in 2002 and has officiated in numerous European games, he also has experience at international level.
He is not afraid to flash his cards and has shown an average of over 4 yellow cards in each game for the past three seasons. In one French Ligue 1 match he showed the yellow card on 12 occasions, without sending anyone off.
The assisstant referees, Patrick Reinbold and David Benech, and the fourth official, Bruno Ruffray, are also from France.
