Mr. Mason make his Premier League debut at the Riverside having refereed in the Championship and Football League since 2002. At 34-years-old he is one of the youngest referees on the circuit.
Last season he officiated in 36 games showing the yellow card on 108 occasions but only using the red card three times. This season he has been in charge of 22 games showing the yellow card 56 times and the red three.
