Middlesbrough defender Stephen McManus admits he is at a loss to explain the club's damaging lack of form away from the Riverside Stadium. The Teessiders slipped to a 3-1 npower Championship defeat at Derby on Tuesday night, their fourth reverse in five games on the road which has seen them take just one point from a possible 15 on their travels to date. Scotland international McManus told the club's official website: "We are scratching our heads as well, but we are working as hard as we possibly can to put it right. "It's a tremendous bunch of lads who just want to do the best we possibly can. "We know we need to big deeper than we ever have before. Our aim is promotion and we certainly believe we can do it. But we know we need to get results, especially away from home, to drive us back up there."
