Izzet for Windass

Izzet has continued to make it clear that his future lies away from Filbert Street, especially since a proposed move to Aston Villa broke down last year. He is still on the transfer list and refuses to commit his long-term future to the club.

Manager Dave Bassett has previously made enquiries about Dean Windass but Boro were not willing to part with the ex-Bradford striker.

Now it would appear a swap could be on the cards with Boro paying the balance of around £5.5m to Leicester.
