Chairman Steve Gibson is preparing himself for a battle with the Premier League over Southgate's appointment, in regard to his much publicised lack of UEFA coaching badges.

I must say, personally, that I am a little surprised at Southgate's appointment, but if the chairman believes it is the right decision for Midlesbrough Football Club I will support him and give him my full backing.
