The chance of a north-east semi-final was diminished within the first ten minutes with goals from Bergkamp and Pires. Arsenal finally sealed it with a goal from Campbell in the opening minutes of the second half.

Boro were drawn as the home team at FA headquarters last week so Arsenal will play in their away kit. Boro fans have been allocated the Stretford End for the match which takes place on Sunday 14th April.
