Martin Scott named a predominantly young side for the game away to Hull, but there were starts for Josh Walker, Jonathan Grounds and Seb Hines.

The driving rain meant it was tough conditions, but Boro reserves took the lead inside ten minutes.

Josh Walker's corner found Hines free in the box and he headed powerfully home, giving Scott's men a deserved goal.

Hines scored again to make it 2-0 but Hull came back with a stunning three goals in the last 15 minutes of the half which left Boro shell-shocked.
