Disappointingly he will miss Boro's continued success in Europe and also the U-19 European Championship games at the end of March.
He joins the long list of casualties which includes Gaizka Mendieta, Mark Viduka, George Boateng, Malcolm Christie and Mark Schwarzer, who was added to the list just this weekend after tweaking his knee in training.
Boateng should be back in full training this week and has an outside chance of playing at Villa on Saturday. Schwarzer will be out for a fortnight and hopefully Viduka should be back soon after.
