Boro were within seconds of a precious victory over promotion-chasing npower Championship rivals Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night when a last-gasp Dele Adebola strike secured a point for the visitors.
Adebola's intervention, the latest in a series of late goals conceded by the Teessiders, denied Tony Mowbray's men the chance to ease themselves further clear of the drop zone, but Hines is confident they will learn from their mistakes.
He told the club's official website: "We are probably one of the youngest back fours in the league and there's always going to be that added pressure.
"We are inexperienced, but we are learning every game and Tuesday's game can only help us.
"We have shown we can do it - we hung on against Millwall, so we know we have got it in our locker - but unfortunately, it's happened more often than not."
