Gareth Southgate: “We had an horrendous day at the office. Everything that could have gone wrong did go wrong.
“We have been slaughtered at home and we got what we deserved because of the way we performed.
“But I have to keep a sense of perspective on it. We have had a good start to the season and we know that we are not a bad team.
“What we have to do is to sit down an analyse every bit of this performance to try to ensure that it doesn’t happen again.
“We have let a lot of people down and it’s been a rude awakening.
“This will calm things down and make everybody realise that we have a lot of hard work ahead of us over the next 38 games.
“We have to get everybody fired up again this week to make sure that there are no after-effects at Coventry on Saturday.”
