Allan Johnston and Dean Windass have both enjoyed succesful loan periods in the Steel City recently, Johnston at Wednesday and Windass at United.
Wednesday have extended Johnston's loan for another month and will hope to make the move permanent in the future. The Boro winger has netted twice in his first six-game spell, although The Owls are still in danger of being relegated to Division Two.
Negotiations continue over a permanent move for Windass. Talks broke down at the weekend over a loan deal for the remainder season, when The Blades were unwilling to pay £100,000 for the Tyke, if they won promotion to the Premier League. Boro were prepared to pay half of Windass' wages while he was at Bramall Lane.
