Since joining Boro from Arsenal in June 2007 for £2m, Aliadiere played as a wide right-winger for much of last season.
But, despite the arrival of striker Leroy Lita, the Frenchman is hopeful of getting back his central-striker role.
Jeremie Aliadiere: "I started the first game, got injured and when you come back people take your place.
"I know what I can do, I'm happy to fight for my place. It's how it works.
"When you're not in the starting 11 you have to do your best in training and in every opportunity you get.
"That's what I'm trying to do every time I'm on the pitch, and it worked and I scored two goals."
