Festa, who was 33 in March, has been a superb servant for the club since his move fom Inter Milan in January 1997, but he has hinted that he would like one more career move, before he is finished.
He said "I decided to go to Middlesbrough with the intention of only staying for one year, instead I have made a home there. I am satisfied with my career with them and the only thing lacking was that we won nothing, the three Wembley defeats are sad moments in my career."
He added "I am not working in the most beautiful city in the world, but the training facilities are beautiful, the stadium is fantastic and I live in a splendid house - my family is also happy. But I am looking at the chance of leaving, I want to make something of the last few years of my career. Where will I go? I could stay in England or even move back to Italy."
He almost joined his old boss Claudio Ranieri at Chelsea last year and has attracted recent interest from Atalanta back in Italy. Festa is dearly loved by the fans and it would be a great shame to see him move on.
Meanwhile I have it on good authority that Jason Gavin could be joining West Bromwich Alibion. Gavin who has shown tremendous promise in the past few years had a difficult time in the second half of last season, with a lull in form and a number of niggling injuries.
