Swansea have signed Middlesbrough forward Marvin Emnes on a month-long loan deal. Emnes, who can play as a winger on either flank or in attack, trained with Swansea on Monday and is in line to make his debut in Tuesday night`s home clash against league leaders QPR. The 22-year-old signed for Boro from Sparta Rotterdam for £3.2million in the summer of 2008 having impressed in the Eredivisie, but he has struggled to make his mark at the Riverside. The former Holland Under-21 international has made just 15 league starts and 16 substitute appearances in just over two years, scoring only the once - ironically against the Swans at the beginning of last season. His most recent start came almost a year ago to the day in Gordon Strachan`s first match in charge of the north-east club, while he has managed only reserve-team appearances for Middlesbrough this term. Swans boss Brendan Rodgers will now be hoping the change of scenery in south Wales is just what is needed to kickstart Emnes` career.
