Players are normally suspended for just one game after being sent off for two bookable offences, but the offence is doubled because he was sent off on the opening day of the season, against Arsenal at the Riverside.
A disappointed Ehiogu said "I've no complaints at my second booking because he's ran at me and I've clipped him, trying to get out of the way"
"My complaint was over my first booking, and if anything I thought the foul should have been awarded to me. But the linsman saw it differently. As a result I get a silly booking that eventually leads to me getting sent off. I can't get my head around it."
Ehiogu will miss the FA Cup quarter final, a week on Sunday, and Boro's home game with Liverpool, a week later on Saturday March 16th.
Fortunately Boro can call on Gianluca Festa who has completed his three match ban following his sending off against Sunderland in January. Colin Cooper has returned to training and could also feature.
