The decision comes on the same day that chairman-elect Raj Singh signed a deal with George Houghton to take over the club.
Quakers were due to entertain Boro at The Northern Echo Darlington Arena next Wednesday.
Todd: “It’s very unfortunate that we’ve had to do this.
“It is very disappointing.
"From the club’s point of view, this game was a valuable fixture, and it was an attractive match for our fans as well.
“But you can’t play a game of football without players.
"The injured lads don’t have a chance of playing next Wednesday, and I’ve had to cancel plans for a behindclosed- doors match on Saturday.
“It hampers my pre-season plans, no doubt, and cancelling the Middlesbrough game was the last thing we wanted to do. But the injuries have left us with no choice.”
Fans who have bought tickets can get refunds from Quakers’ ticket office.
