Colin Cooper: “I remember when West Ham came here a couple of years ago and controlled the tempo of the game against us.
“Gianfranco Zola is the West Ham manager, obviously, and there’s the link with West Brom’s Roberto Di Matteo because they were both at Chelsea together.
“Maybe there is something there from their Chelsea days.
“Chelsea very rarely go a goal down, but when they do they raise the tempo of the game.
“If they go a goal up, then they kill the game. We saw a lot of that from West Brom on Saturday and you’ve got to give them credit for the way they did it.
“When you look back at the game, we actually put in a lot more effort into the game than people have given us credit for.
“But every time we lifted the tempo, West Brom managed to kill it again.
“So we had to start from scratch again, build it up again, and then West Brom would knock us back by killing it again.
“We play multi-ball but when the ball is thrown to West Brom players for a throw in, then they bounce it a few times, or leave it for another player.
“They are very good at it. It is a way to control the game once they have gone in front and it made it very difficult for us.”
