Campbell fires Cardiff to Division One

The Middlesbrough born hitman came off the bench in extra time to grab a last gasp winner in the Division Two play off final at the Millennium Stadium against QPR. And what a sweet finish it was, racing away from halfway to latch on to a high through ball before lifting a measured left foot volley over the stranded Rangers keeper.

It was a weekend of play off glory for Boro stars past and present, Campbell's Cardiff are managed by former Boro boss Lennie Lawrence and skippered by midfield man Graham Kavanagh who began his career at Ayresome Park.

A day earlier on-loan Boro defender Phil Gulliver helped his Bournemouth side to victory in the Division Three final, the south coast side crushing Lincoln City 5 - 2.

And ex-Boro skipper Paul Ince made it a hat trick on Monday leading his Wolves side in to the Premiership after a resounding 3 - 0 defeat of Sheffield United in the Division One showpiece.
