It has been reported that Boro have won the race to sign Man. United's out-of-favour striker, ahead of rivals Sunderland. Steve McClaren was able to offer Yorke a better deal than Monkey Head up the road.
Ugo Ehiogu has played a major part in the move by selling the club to Yorke in a number of lengthy conversations. He also has first hand knowledge of McClarens working philosophy from his days at Old Trafford.
Ehiogu said "Dwight still has a lot to prove, he still wants to score goals and he's the fittest player at Manchester United. If you look at his scoring record over the last three seasons, you'll find he's averaging about 20 a season."
Lets hope he's right because I remain to be convinced.
