But the Villa striker has had a double bit of bad luck ... Harewood's agent has claimed Hull City had agreed a deal to sign the striker only for the move to fall through.
Reports suggest the 30-year-old was ready to move to the KC Stadium on loan until January with a view to a £2million permanent switch.
Harewood's agent Phil Sproson: "Having taken the call from Phil I really thought the deal was going to happen, but that's football and this is what can happen on deadline day.
"I travelled to Villa having spoken to Phil and they were happy for the deal to go ahead and it was all sorted at their end.
"I tried calling Phil back during the afternoon several times, but we heard nothing more.
"It is strange as Hull seemed interested when we spoke early in the afternoon, but Marlon will move on from this and will bounce back.
"If Hull had wanted this deal Marlon would be there now, that's 100 per cent."
