Following on from the Boro youngsters in action at the end of last week, it was the turn of the senior pro's to make a mark for their countries.
First up was Boro keeper Mark Schwarzer who helped Australia to a 4-1 first leg victory over the Solomon Islands in Honiara, in the Oceanian Cup. The winners will represent Oceania in next years Confederation Cup. The second leg takes place in Sydnet tomorrow.
In the World Cup qualifiers Szilard Nemeth was on the score sheet for Slovakia as they came back from being 1-0 down at half-time to win 4-1 over Latvia.
Joseph Desire Job was also on the score sheet for Cameroon, Job scoring the equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Sudan.
