Boro part company with Xavier

The much travelled Portuguese defender tested positive for a banned substance following Boro's UEFA Cup tie in Xanthi, early in the season.

He was handed an 18 month ban by UEFA and has had an appeal rejected just before Christmas. However, he still insists that he is innocent and will fight to clear his name through the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
