John Hickton (talking to the Evening Gazette): "It was an important win. There was a passion there.

"Now they have to beat Fulham and then they will be in with a real chance.

"I'd love to think they could get another big crowd against Fulham.

"The atmosphere at the Riverside was marvellous. It's a lovely stadium. I always enjoy going there. If everybody gets behind the team then they can pull them along.

"I certainly like the Gazette's Keep the Faith campaign. The fans should stick with the team.

"In fact I'd love to hear drums banging at the next match.

"It (the Hull game) was exciting. There were a lot of shots and crosses and goalmouth action.

"Marlon King did well. He fought hard and showed good movement, flicking balls on.

"And Matthew Bates looked a really handy player. He gave the impression he had played in midfield all his life. His distribution was particularly good.

"But then that's what you expect from Academy players. They are fighting for their club.
