The Tigers took the lead from a Robert Koren 25 yard strike before Boro levelled as Tony McMahon crossed for Leroy Lita to head home. Hull regained the lead on 41 minutes as Koren floated a free-kick into a crowded box for Anthony Gerrard to send a looping header into the far top corner. The home side came out fighting after the break and levelled within 30 seconds as Lita crossed for Scott McDonald to power in a near post header.
Mowbray said: "We were all disappointed. We thought we should and could have won especially after we got the second goal so early after the restart. We did well to come from behind twice. That showed how much we wanted it. We had the best of the game I thought and it was a bit frustrating that we conceded the goals that we did.
"In the first half they never really threatened our goal yet somehow they managed to score twice but we showed character to get back and regain control.
"The snow wasn't helpful for us. It is not ideal when the ball doesn't roll, especially for the players who like the ball at their feet and especially because we like to pass it. But both sides said it was playable and even though at times you couldn't see the lines there was no moaning from the either dug-out."
